“We did it! We did it! WE DID IT! Yeah, we did it!” Anyone know that tune, let me know… Points to whoever can name it first. My sister excluded.

I am over-the-moon-happy about this session. I am so happy about it for a couple of reasons; we got lucky with weather, blue skies, light, and sunset but beyond all of that Stephanie and I may have convinced Michael that he is NOT in fact, horrible in front of the camera. I’m hoping when he sees this he’ll realize how great he looks in front of the camera. How fantastic his piercing blue eyes are, what a great jaw line he has, that it’s ok to let his guard let his guard down just a little bit and maybe, just maybe let a smile out…a small one. I hope from now until forever Michael, in fact no one, will ever utter these words again “he’s not great in front of the camera…” We did it! We did it! Michael!

Ok, so that’s plenty about his awesome-ness.

This Muskoka Wedding can’t come soon enough. Not true actually, it could come too soon, winter would be too soon. I’m so looking forward to their SPRING wedding at Port Cunnington Lodge. Their details, her dress, the venue (a very favourite of mine), and to top it all off it’s going to be a full day of documenting! I really do love shooting a wedding day from beginning to end.

We had such a ball playing in the snow yesterday. Riely, their sweet Golden had the most fun of course. From his family cottage on Lake of Bays, to the neighbour’s beautiful sparkling pine forest and even Port Cunnington it was a full afternoon. Loved it lots. Got to wear my new shooting pants too!

Cheers to you both. Stephanie, tell Michael he’s awesome. Michael, your bride is flipping stunning! She’s awesome too but not just because she’s pretty. This girl is running a successful business in the heart of the city, in a field that is wickedly competitive. You two should be very proud of yourselves!

Perhaps you experienced the incredible weather we had up here over the Thanksgiving weekend. Perhaps you didn’t? The skies over Lake Bernard in Sundridge were so dramatic. The most interesting I’ve ever seen. Alexa and Adrian still decided to wed on the pier at The Northridge Inn and Resort. As their photographer I could not have been happier about this decision. The winds blew through Alexa’s veil, the sun shone through perfectly on Adrian as he watched his bride walk down the aisle. It was awesome. What wasn’t so awesome…the hail, the snow, and the rain which began almost immediately following their ceremony. It was frigid! We barely made it through their family portraits, never mind a beautiful bridal session. Alas, as you may have seen, we were able to capture some pretty spectacular images (thanks to adventurous clients, beautiful skies, and willing family). And after all of that-we still wanted more. Monday of the long weekend we got all dressed up and did it again. This time the sun was hot (ish), the skies were blue, and the forest was vibrant. This is what we came up with! Enjoy.Best Muskoka Photographer

I was so flippin’ thrilled to photograph this day for them. I’m not even sure what to tell you. I think by the images you’ll be able to see how passionate I was about this wedding and this beautiful couple. I’ve worked with the Hatleys many times (I shot Michael’s sister’ wedding, 2 of her friends weddings, a colleagues wedding, their families, their neighbours…) and seeing so many familiar faces at Michael and Joël’s Lumina Resort wedding made this day even more spectacular. Instead of me rambling on about this AWESOME day I will leave you with just a few words. LOVED IT!

Glorious dresses. Midnight messes. And everything in between. Your wedding makes me want to do this job forever and ever and ever.

Cheers to you both, sweet Michael and Joël. You both have a very special place in my heart, on the dance floor of my dreams, and now a gigantic place on my blog. See you very, very, very soon for a night of food, drinks, and pretty wedding pictures on the big screen. xoxoxo

A few big fat wedding day “Thank Yous”, Lumina Resort on Lake of Bays – how I love your nostalgic details and low slung ceilings. In Carnations, you crazy florists, you! I’m always thrilled to see you girls at a wedding and shoot your work. All of you INSANE guests who partied well past bedtime, showed me why I love the dance floor so much, and gave me some of the best party pictures I’ve ever shot. And lastly to my super, awesome, always thrilling, never disappointing second shooter, Dave Sloan. Love having him with me and love editing his work. He teaches me something about light every time we shoot together.

You know that song that song, “…isn’t she lovely…”? I’m pretty sure it plays somewhere every time she enters a room. Meet Leah. A gorgeous bride, married at Port Cunnington Lodge in Dwight, Ontario, September 2011. This yearly part of her wedding day was photographed in one their Muskoka style cabins. It was a spectacular afternoon. You can see some of their wedding details here, in Part 1.

From the moment I began discussing wedding details with Leah and Keegan it was clear she was a details girl. And that may be putting it lightly. I loved every minute of planing with these two and we were never at a loss for inspiration. You might remember their July 2011 engagement session in Muskoka? Find the sweet, vintage, gauzey post on my Fan Page. Thinking about a wedding at Port Cunnington Lodge in Dwight, Ontario on Lake of Bays? It’s one of our favourites and you can see why. We started shooting at Port Cunnington 3 years ago and have never been disappointed. I have to thank Bry Morrow, a great photographer, for working with Jay and I on this wedding. Bry spent the afternoon with us shooting primarily details and did such a beautiful job shooting the ceremony. Thanks Bry!
