Another sweet summer family ‘cottage session‘! I love huge-family days at the beach, on the dock, in forest. Such fun and history at family cottages in Muskoka. It’s a good day when I get to hang out with wild kids and their parents in nature.

This family is on my blog often, their lives have been well documented. I cherish our relationship very much and am really looking forward to learning all about baby Arlo. Living in Toronto it was likely I’d have to miss his birth, although we did some planning for birth photography. The irony is on the Sunday night that I left the city, passing through their neighbourhood, I messaged momma to say ‘any baby, I can come right now?’ There was no babe yet. And what do you know – less than 24 hours later she was in labour, surrounded by her all people. I missed it. I missed by only hours! Instead we gathered at the cottage near Huntsville yesterday. They cuddled in bed. Changed bums. Fed babies. You know the drill. It was lovely.Huntsville Family Portraits Huntsville Family Portraits Huntsville Ontario Family Portraits Huntsville Ontario Baby Photographers Huntsville Ontario Baby Photographers

You’ve met Elsie and family before, I shot her a number of times and her beautiful parents have been long time clients…and now friends. It was so much fun to head out to their cottage and photograph them again. This family holds a very special place in my heart. Here is our morning in Muskoka with Elsie and her fam.

One day we drove to Tamarindo. What a hot and spicy, Costa Rican tourist trap this place is. We shopped, we ate, we shopped more, we danced at a surf shop and Charlie picked out his next board, finally we found a guy and his horse on the beach. The day was long and full. I will go back again…without children.

This guy was up every morning (ok, most mornings) at 530am. At first it was too much. After the first…second…third early morning I began to go bed at a decent hour. Joking! I began to really appreciate our time together at the beach. The early mornings are quiet. The beach is cool and the ocean is warm. My wee Charlie could prance around nude to his heart’s content and we didn’t have to struggle over the application of “sun cream“.

Cheers to our little nude monkey. Now that we’re home he’s more than welcome to start sleeping in.
