I love this bride! Christine didn’t actually find me on her own, it was another Muskoka photographer whom she inquired with that gave her my name. And I’m thrilled she did. Christine is my kind-a-girl. She’s just a little wild, slightly crass, totally up front and honest. She’s loving, kind, funny, playful…and the sense of humour her and Mike share is unmistakably and unapologetically lewd. I love being around them. After a surprise boudoir session in the winter and later, an engagement session at Deerhurst Resort in the spring shooting their entire wedding day in Huntsville, from start to finish was just the icing on the cake.

Christine and Mike, I have loved laughing with you, photographing you and getting to know all of your quirks. It will be my pleasure photographing your family in the future and introducing you to mine. See you both soon – but not soon enough. xoxo

And to Ms. Liz Lott of Snapdragon Photography – you are a total joy to work with. You images never disappoint and as usual I’m looking forward to our wedding day in Muskoka.

I arrived. With beer, all kinds of delicious, interesting beer. Their sweet little Bostons met me with vocal furror that can only be associated with wild love and excitement for life…and new visitors. Emma and Robert (Oggie) were skeptical. She giggled and sipped. It was nice. Then we found some light. It was a perfect little session. Oh! Then when all was said and done, the last drips were being sipped Emma and I realized we knew some of the same childhood friends. Good End.

I’m very happy to finally be blogging this beautiful forest wedding! I was pretty happy to shoot it too! What a day it was. I met Toni for the first time almost 10 years ago…more! Her and I went to college together, in Ontario. When she contacted me to photograph her wedding (which was this past September 2012) I was thrilled. We met in Ottawa one (maybe two) weekend and talked about all things wedding. The property was beautiful and her vision seemed simply dreamy. You can tell she’s an inspired woman with a lot of love in her heart.

I hope you enjoy this sweet little Sugar Shack – Ottawa Valley Wedding as much as I did. These two were fabulous!

Huge thank you to my friend and colleague Alanna Govenlock of Stollen Still Photography. It was such a great time shooting with her. She’s quite a talent! And of course – Christina O. from The Flower Factory, who did amazing job with the planning and design. Beautiful work, gorgeous team!

This was a really great wedding day to photograph! Ram and Terri must be one of the most easy going, kind, and cheery couples we have ever worked with.

I first met Ram almost two years ago in Toronto, at a photography workshop. We hit off immediately! Then he went and proposed to Terri, then they called me! So exciting. Here are a few of my favourite images from the day, both the ceremony and reception were held at the Courtyard Marriott in Brampton.

As you can see Ram and Terri are a pretty cute couple, always smiling and so full of life…I’d say this is especially true of Terri. I don’t think she stopped smiling all day. And what a dramatic smile it is! So much joy.

It was a beautiful day to be part of.

I first met Megan a year ago when both of us attended a workshop in Sudbury. At the time I was working for a little Eco-Retreat centre on the edge of Algonquin Park and she was working for a similar company on Lake Superior. It was just a few month later she told us she was getting married and looking all over the place for the most fantastic place to be married. Megan and Paul knew they were looking for something small, northern, and lakeside for their wedding. I knew immediately the Northridge Inn in Sundridge was the perfect place (one of our favourite locations for weddings, great meals, and a little overnight stay).

This wedding was a gathering from all over the map…Paul, Megan and friends coming south from Wawa and great family and friends from down-under. It was clear to Jay and I from the moment we met Megan and Paul they were a different kind of couple. Both of them so modest and full of excitement about the day…and a great sense of how to make a northern fall wedding day all their own. From the moments Megan practiced her first dance early in the day, to the handmade Thank You gifts, to the felted hiking mice atop their wedding cheese cake (an actual cheese cake). This day was all their own. We loved shooting this wedding and just wish we had a little more time to spend getting to know Megan, Paul, and their families.

We wish you both love and joy for years to come.
