I am so honoured to be able to photograph and share Wendy’s belly. She’s a photographer here in Muskoka as well, and a long time friend. Shortly after I gave birth to my little Charlie Wendy photographed the most beautiful session for us. My hope is that I can continue to document this little on for her. Although we were planning for a bright, sunny mid morning session – thank goodness we were veiled in a beautiful cloud of mist. The forest and lake could not have been any more forgiving and romantic. Thank you, Wendy for allowing me to do this for you.

If you’re a beautiful yogini (Moksha Yoga in Thornhill) and a super-duper-enthusiastic canoe tripper (that’s the mild version) living life in Muskoka where would you have your engagement session? ‘A Chip truck‘ is the obvious answer. Kind of a no-brainer. After fries you head to the cottage and hop in the canoe – again, obvious. Not sure I need to say too much more about these beauties – filled with love and compassion for each other, shooting them was easy and felt natural. They are deep and dynamic and full of kindness. My entire family may have a couple-crush on them. Last night my little Charlie couldn’t take his eyes off her. Their destination wedding is coming up in just 2 weeks. More trees, more yoga, open water, all over 3 days of sweet celebrations!

My sweet and talented sissy along with our dear cousin, Angie completed their first Try-a-Tri (http://www.sundridge-triathlon.com), here in Sundridge. They decided on Wednesday that on Sunday they would do it! I really had no idea how emotional it would be for all of us (3 ninis, 1 dad, 1 uncle bill, 5 kids, and moi), especially Em and Ange. Congratulations! I’m so proud of you both. Muskoka Family Photographers, 2013 Muskoka Family Photographers, 2013 Muskoka Family Photographers, 2013 Muskoka Family Photographers, 2013 Muskoka Family Photographers, 2013 Muskoka Family Photographers, 2013 Muskoka Family Photographers, 2013

It is clear to me now that winter is the best and only time to make pretty pictures of lovers. Saturday, sunny (snowy) Sundridge was magnificent. Despite the slippery roads, the coolish temperature, boots filled with snow, and a frozen trigger finger – Trevor and Renee’s winter engagement session could not have been anymore delightful. On Saturday afternoon they packed their car and ventured south. I love shooting with clients in my neighbourhood. Not only does my sweet little town have great scenery (and the most beautiful fresh water lake in the world) but I already know all the best spots.

We ate a delicious lunch at Danny’s Justa Pasta, drove ALL over Sundridge, making sure to take secret, only locally known routes to sparkling forest locations. We shot well into sundown on Lake Bernard.

Trevor and Renee, I’m so looking forward to shooting you two again. Cheers to your April wedding in North Bay.

Perhaps you experienced the incredible weather we had up here over the Thanksgiving weekend. Perhaps you didn’t? The skies over Lake Bernard in Sundridge were so dramatic. The most interesting I’ve ever seen. Alexa and Adrian still decided to wed on the pier at The Northridge Inn and Resort. As their photographer I could not have been happier about this decision. The winds blew through Alexa’s veil, the sun shone through perfectly on Adrian as he watched his bride walk down the aisle. It was awesome. What wasn’t so awesome…the hail, the snow, and the rain which began almost immediately following their ceremony. It was frigid! We barely made it through their family portraits, never mind a beautiful bridal session. Alas, as you may have seen, we were able to capture some pretty spectacular images (thanks to adventurous clients, beautiful skies, and willing family). And after all of that-we still wanted more. Monday of the long weekend we got all dressed up and did it again. This time the sun was hot (ish), the skies were blue, and the forest was vibrant. This is what we came up with! Enjoy.Best Muskoka Photographer
