Ms. B walked in looking like a Victoria Secret model. Then we did make-up…
She was unreal.

B and I didn’t know each other previous to this, which was surprising since we’re almost pretty much from the same town. I’ve known her gorgeous little sisters for years… Such a long time in fact I would have said “since they were kids”. So when Brittney called, and asked approximately one million questions about her session I was really happy to hear from her. What I learned about B when she arrived was that her heart is as big and bright as her smile. She holds a lot of love in there. But what impressed me most about her was her modesty, her absolute comfort in front of my camera, and most of all her brilliance. The girl is SMART! She absolutely excelled in all the subjects I (almost) failed (twice). I was pleased to no end.

So here it is, cheers to you, dear B.

I can’t believe that’s me//Toronto & Muskoka Boudoir Photographer

Why take that leap? A lot of effort, a lot of planning, a lot of money, just a lot of stuff to think about, really. That is what stops women from booking.

Ms. S was nervous. Convinced she could not pull off sexy. She knew she felt comfortable naked (in fact she loves being naked, she told me), but didn’t think she could make it look sexy. Well, turns out she did exactly that. She absolutely pulled off sexy. Ms. S is eloping in just a few short weeks, a perfect civil ceremony at a courthouse, officiated by a judge, a judge-friend. And to top it off, an early morning departure to paradise. I have feeling March will be a beautiful “new life” beginning  for Ms. S and Mr. “Ms. S”.

Ms. P did this for her hubby. As you can imagine husbands, lovers, and boyfriends LOVE this. They LOVE it. He LOVED it.

All of my women clients are nervous about this. It’s quite the process unrobing for a camera. I suppose I take it for granted, it’s easy for me to experience this from behind the lens, I can see it all unfolding so to speak.  My clients, of course cannot. My favourite part of any boudoir session is when a client begins to take a step she didn’t imagine she would. Perhaps it’s a pose or an outfit, often it’s a little more nudity, perhaps its complete nudity. Whatever it is, it is always interesting and telling. I appreciate so much that women are willing to take these risks in front of my camera. We have such a deep history of self judgement and criticism. I’m honoured to be part of conquering all that B.S.
