If you’re a beautiful yogini (Moksha Yoga in Thornhill) and a super-duper-enthusiastic canoe tripper (that’s the mild version) living life in Muskoka where would you have your engagement session? ‘A Chip truck‘ is the obvious answer. Kind of a no-brainer. After fries you head to the cottage and hop in the canoe – again, obvious. Not sure I need to say too much more about these beauties – filled with love and compassion for each other, shooting them was easy and felt natural. They are deep and dynamic and full of kindness. My entire family may have a couple-crush on them. Last night my little Charlie couldn’t take his eyes off her. Their destination wedding is coming up in just 2 weeks. More trees, more yoga, open water, all over 3 days of sweet celebrations!

Muskoka’s Cottage Country is where family dreams are made of, where young couples raise their sweet summer families and where those kids eventually come to play and be married. This is the case with Sarah and Adam.

There is a long driveway at the end of a winding dirt road, on the far side of town. They have an old cottage, a new boathouse, and an antique cedar boat. There is a long history and shared property…and of course they will have their wedding here. In true Muskoka style their wedding day will be a mix of old family history, a rustic and romantic outdoor ceremony and a beautiful reception at the Muskoka Bay Club. This was a morning full of sweet and awkward giggles, some beer – but never enough, and a little bit of ‘making out in a field’. Loved photographing these two beauties.

I arrived. With beer, all kinds of delicious, interesting beer. Their sweet little Bostons met me with vocal furror that can only be associated with wild love and excitement for life…and new visitors. Emma and Robert (Oggie) were skeptical. She giggled and sipped. It was nice. Then we found some light. It was a perfect little session. Oh! Then when all was said and done, the last drips were being sipped Emma and I realized we knew some of the same childhood friends. Good End.
