Ms. P did this for her hubby. As you can imagine husbands, lovers, and boyfriends LOVE this. They LOVE it. He LOVED it.

All of my women clients are nervous about this. It’s quite the process unrobing for a camera. I suppose I take it for granted, it’s easy for me to experience this from behind the lens, I can see it all unfolding so to speak.  My clients, of course cannot. My favourite part of any boudoir session is when a client begins to take a step she didn’t imagine she would. Perhaps it’s a pose or an outfit, often it’s a little more nudity, perhaps its complete nudity. Whatever it is, it is always interesting and telling. I appreciate so much that women are willing to take these risks in front of my camera. We have such a deep history of self judgement and criticism. I’m honoured to be part of conquering all that B.S.

Love shooting boudoir. Especially love when I can do something a little out of my comfort zone…men. This is Mr. J. He was great, happy to be half nude and then later all the way nude…we shot a shower scene…that I won’t show you. Sorry. We had a great time shooting this series. It was Mr. J’s wife that first contacted me. Obviously he has the kind of body a lover wants to celebrate. We celebrated. The three of us shot all afternoon. Mrs. J and I giggled the whole time…she enjoyed the oil application most. Too much fun!

I think I’ve said this before, beautiful women are my favourite to photograph. Nude, clothed, with family, in a wedding dress…I love it. I have to admit though, capturing a body a various states of undress is a phenomenal experience. Our bodies are amazing. The first time I shot a Boudoir session I dove right in so to speak. It was over a year ago in Ottawa, my subject was none too shy…since then I’ve fallen in love with various forms of Boudoir photography.

It’s the bodies, the bodies get me every time. Some bodies are sharp and some are round, others have had babies and some are about to have them. And every single body tells a story. In fact it might not be just the bodies I love so much, but the stories they tell…the stories of it’s travels, who it’s been and especially of how it wants to be in this world.

This beautiful body below was captured a few weekends ago when I hosted The Muskoka Boudoir Weekend. The images we captured of Ms. S in front of the window are my absolute favourite. We enjoyed a private cabin by the lake, professional hair and make-up by Signature Beauty, and all the shooting we could handle in a day.

So here, I celebrate the love I have for my work and the “story-telling bodies” I love so much.
