Happy Thanksgiving weekend.
I was so flippin’ thrilled to photograph this day for them. I’m not even sure what to tell you. I think by the images you’ll be able to see how passionate I was about this wedding and this beautiful couple. I’ve worked with the Hatleys many times (I shot Michael’s sister’ wedding, 2 of her friends weddings, a colleagues wedding, their families, their neighbours…) and seeing so many familiar faces at Michael and Joël’s Lumina Resort wedding made this day even more spectacular. Instead of me rambling on about this AWESOME day I will leave you with just a few words. LOVED IT!
Glorious dresses. Midnight messes. And everything in between. Your wedding makes me want to do this job forever and ever and ever.
Cheers to you both, sweet Michael and Joël. You both have a very special place in my heart, on the dance floor of my dreams, and now a gigantic place on my blog. See you very, very, very soon for a night of food, drinks, and pretty wedding pictures on the big screen. xoxoxo
A few big fat wedding day “Thank Yous”, Lumina Resort on Lake of Bays – how I love your nostalgic details and low slung ceilings. In Carnations, you crazy florists, you! I’m always thrilled to see you girls at a wedding and shoot your work. All of you INSANE guests who partied well past bedtime, showed me why I love the dance floor so much, and gave me some of the best party pictures I’ve ever shot. And lastly to my super, awesome, always thrilling, never disappointing second shooter, Dave Sloan. Love having him with me and love editing his work. He teaches me something about light every time we shoot together.
Michael, who happens to be a talented designer (FYI she was a contestant on Runway Canada!!!! WHAT! I KNOW, RIGHT!) slipped out the door and into her party dress.Meanwhile back at the ranch Joél was hosting a great party.
What a fabulous long weekend! Sun was shining, kids were playing, families were so happy to be at the cottage. Just one of four family portrait sessions this weekend, it was such fun to hang out with these guys. To celebrate their great grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary this lot organized a family reunion. Clever considering they’re all under 10! Dressed and ready to welcome their guests-this group of fine-looking cousins spent the morning at the river. Enjoy. Happy Anniversary Gram & Grandad.
