{Family Portraits in Ottawa, Ontario, 1/3}

Last weekend I was running all over the place. Alas I caught the flu…which gives me lots of time to blog! But before that I was lucky enough to shoot a cousin’s family gathering. This group is spread from Ottawa to Montreal and wanted to gather representing all generations, all family combination, and all phases of the Lagace life. I love family photography especially when we can get a little creative. Happy people, cute babies, beautiful teenagers, sports cars, and interesting back drops are all keys to success. This was a little chaotic, I must admit. About 15 before we began shooting we almost changed locations…but I knew the SportPlex would be a great spot to create some interesting imagery. Then Grandpa, who went to pick up the beautiful Holly got a lost, then by the time everybody arrived we had just about 20 minutes until Dawn was to leave for work. Pure chaos…pure beautiful wonderful energizing chaos.

This was the first of a few shoots I was doing for the Lagace/Faithfull crowd…we’ll call this post one of three. I think I was shooting from about 4pm to 11pm. I had a great time and will heading back to Ottawa in July for and Engagement shoot in the Market.
